Marilena Poullou holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Democritus University of Thrace and a Master’s degree (LLM) in Maritime Law from Swansea University. She is a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar in 2018 and as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2022.
Currently, she serves as a Claims Executive at UK Defence Club, a leading provider of legal costs insurance to the maritime industry, with responsibility for handling claims for Members in the Europe and the Middle East Regions.
With nearly a decade of experience in the shipping industry, Marilena has developed strong expertise in claims handling and shipping contracts, having previously worked at a ship management company and a marine insurance brokerage.
Beyond her professional life, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, driven by a passion for discovery and continuous learning.
