About

Polydoros Demetriades is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, followed by a Master of Science in the same field from De Montfort University. In 2021, he successfully completed the ACCA qualification and became an ACCA affiliate.

In 2022, Polydoros joined De Montfort University as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, where he also served as a Module Leader for the Taxation and Audit and Assurance modules, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. During this time, he pursued further professional development, earning the title of Teaching Fellowship in Higher Education. He also obtained the ACFE qualification, marking his specialisation as a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Polydoros has contributed to academic research with a publication in the Journal of Financial Crime. His study focused on Toshiba’s fraudulent financial reporting, analysed through the lens of the fraud diamond, offering valuable insights to the field of accounting literature.

In addition to his academic achievements, Polydoros has professional experience as an assistant accountant in a multinational, multi-industry organisation, and he currently works as an auditor at a reputable audit firm.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Polydoros is passionate about music and is skilled in playing the bouzouki, violin, and guitar.
