Captain Parani Vaithinathan Singaravelu

About

Captain Parani spent fourteen years at sea on commercial seagoing vessels on dry cargo ships and oil tankers. He is currently Vice President – Marine at a large maritime asset management company. Earlier, he led the safety, training, and crewing departments for large ship management companies in Hong Kong and in Cyprus.

Besides his Master Mariner’s license, he has a Master of Laws (LLM)- Business Law, and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Nautical Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.

He is the Author of the book Golden Stripes- Leadership on the High Seas and Producer of the GoldenStripes Podcast. His articles are published in various maritime industry journals, as well as hosted on his website parani.org.

Originally from India, he lives with his family in Cyprus and enjoys swimming and yoga.
